"Parataxis." was recorded using nothing but an acoustic-electric guitar and vocals. And magic.
The first four tracks on the album started as recordings to showcase/test out a newly purchased Yamaha guitar back in late September 2008. The tunes I chose were pulled from my "back catalogue" of songs that I had already written, but the recordings with the guitar let the songs kind of grow in their "completeness", to the point where I thought the recordings were legitimately presentable to the general public.
The four tracks that start off the album ("Sunk", "Never Roman Ivy", "On the Rings", and "Alice Slowly Counts Her Coins") were the best of the first seven tracks that I had initially recorded. The final three tracks ("Beautiful", "A Shooting Star Is Not A Star", and "Evaporate") are more back catalogue songs that I recently recorded to round the album off.
Hope you enjoy them.
